Our professionally-trained, full-time repair technicians are
specialists in brass and woodwind repair
The below prices are based on instruments in good playing condition with normal wear and tear.
Since there is no way for us to estimate an instrument over the phone, we do not quote repair jobs without being able to see the instrument in person.
Additional costs for repairs may be needed in order to complete the repair.
New store policy (as of 2021)
If replacement parts for your instrument are unavailable or obsolete, we will no longer be able to accept it for repair. With parts being difficult or impossible to acquire for so many brands, this is no longer a risk we can afford to take. We appreciate your understanding. Vintage instruments will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Most, due to age and condition, are not in a state to be repaired and will be turned away.
Our full-time repair technicians are members of the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians.

Brass Instrument Repair Prices
Shen-Valley Band Instrument’s “Full Service” is a comprehensive maintenance service to clean, change, check, and adjust your instrument. We recommend annual service to keep your brass in excellent playing condition.
Our ultrasonic cleaning method uses mild water-based detergent to vibrate calcium and particulate build up from the interior of your instrument. The horn is immersed in the running machine for 2-4 minutes, then thoroughly rinsed clean and dried.
PLEASE NOTE: Our brass repairman and shop manager, Allen Paul, is also our on-site school delivery & pickup representative; therefore, brass repairs are worked on only two days a week during the school year (August through May). Turnaround time for most brass repairs during the school year is one week . Open repairs are billed at our shop rate of $60 per hour in 15-minute billing increments as needed.

Our Customers Say
“Needed my backup flute repaired for outdoor lessons — they fixed everything I had noted, and cleaned it up as well for a great price!”
“Great service and excellent instruments for all levels! Best in the Valley!”
“Very easy to work with, instrument repairs completed in a timely manner. They allowed us to make payments on a new saxophone for a good length of time to assist with affordability, and still applied a substantial discount when we were able to pay it off early.”
“Excellent work usually done faster and less expensively than expectations. (Shen-Valley does) wonders for my saxophones and I’d trust their work on any horn. Busy school seasons can be a challenge on their work load but they are always upfront about it.”
“Wonderful service, hands down. Never had to worry about quality of repair or damage to my horns. Allen is a true professional, and has been very willing to talk me through every repair. No problems, a respectable and hard-working group. Thank you!”
“Allen and Steve have been taking care of instruments for my kids and me for a long time. We have been very happy with the work they have done on reeds and brass.”
“The best service and most flexible music company I’ve ever dealt with. Highly recommend!”
“Solid repair service, great staff! I’ve been taking my alto here since I started college at JMU 4 years ago, and I’ve always been more than pleased with the work that’s been done on it. Steve is the best instrument repairman around!”
